Komets release Warner

The Komets had to remove two players from the regular season roster to reach the allotted nineteen allowed for the playoffs.  The two players removed were defenseman Brandon Warner and forward Jon Mirasty.  Warner will remain on injured reserve and assist the coaching staff during Komet home playoff games. The Komets elected to include one amateur player, forward Tom Mele from American International College.

Mirasty goes home

The Komets have until 1 p.m. today to turn in their final 19-man roster, but one name will likely not be on the list. Jon Mirasty left Fort Wayne on Sunday afternoon to return to Syracuse, N.Y. where his wife is expecting their first child. Mirasty was left out of the lineup Saturday night during the Komets' final 2-1 win over Colorado before 10,480 Memorial Coliseum fans.

What Al Sims had to say

``To get three out of four points from Colorado, I think everybody thought was unlikely. I think our team really showed their true colors, championship form, whatever you want to call it. We've got a lot of guys who have won here and wanted to show Colorado that we can play with them and we can beat them. I don't think Colorado wants to play us, to tell you the truth. I think they'd rather play somebody else. We shut them down tonight.
