Light it up

The Day The Earth Stood Still, real-life version:

On March 28, if the lights go off in your Cape Town hotel or, close to home, a Seattle hotel restaurant switches to candles, do not be alarmed. It's not an electrical-grid meltdown but a global show of support.

During Earth Hour, citizens of the world are asked to turn off their power for one hour, starting at 8:30 p.m. local time, in a symbolic stance against global warming.

Want to join me in a symbolic stance? On March 28 (that's Saturday), turn all the lights on all over the house as well as the furnace and the air-conditioning (with all the windows open!), and leave your car running in the driveway all day. Eat only half your food every meal, and throw the rest away. Let the water drip in the bathtub and all the sinks. Sure, it might cost you a dollar or two, but it will be worth it to know you're doing your part to speed along global warming to get rid of all the nasty people and leave the planet to the gentle creatures who will know how to treat it better.

If we could only turn off the sun, just for a minute, we could end this global warming idiocy.

Get Bambi some sunblocker, you earth rapists!

Oh, and for those of you on the right, you can now send President Obama and Congress a tea bag to protest the ongoing pillaging and looting of the economy by the feds and their corporate benefactors. What would George III have said, "Teabags? How clever! Now, how would you bloody f***ing colonists like a Howitzer up your impudent arses?"
