If you're going to hold a "public hearing," for God's sake let the members of the public speak first:
About four hours into a meeting Wednesday, Allen County resident Charles Powell and his wife, Marvel, were frustrated.

Re the public hearings-property tax.This is typical of the legislators arrogance and disconnect from the citizens of this state. They do not care what we think re the property tax mess or the personal economic disaster it has created for the citizens of Indiana. The property tax is their "cash cow".Anyone paying attention to Indianapolis and the local government, ignoring the public and their outcry over ineptitude and mismanagement of our taxdollars, is exactly what happened with Peterson and the council and why they are now gone. The legislature needs to get that message. Fix this or else. Why do the citizens, who pay the bills, have to beg, plead and grovel to make them do what they are elected to do. To all the legislators, we have had enough! To all of you reading this that agrees- go to www.in.gov and send each of them an email now to express your thoughts. It is a simple easy thing to do rather than do nothing. Get involved.
