Does this seem like a pretty big number to anybody else?
ANDERSON, Ind.—Nearly 4,200 people have asked the Indiana Gaming Commission to bar them from entering casinos across Indiana.
The Herald-Bulletin reports (http://bit.ly/pDJRNn ) 1,846 Indiana residents and 2,338 from other states have asked to participate in the Voluntary Exclusion Program, which allows people to be barred from casinos for periods ranging from a year to a lifetime.
More than 4,000 please-stop-me volunteers just for our little handful of casinos. Multiply that by all the other casinos and gambling offerings, and add in all the problem gamblers who aren't trying to quit, and we've got quite the national problem there, aided and abetted by rapacious governments always on the lookout for the easy kill.
