The cookie crumbles

It's one of my favorite times of the year again, when -- oh, no, another sign the economy is really, really bad:

If you seem to be tearing through those Girl Scout Thin Mints a little faster this year, you aren't imagining things.

Fewer cookies were packaged into Thin Mints, Do-si-dos and Tagalongs boxes this year, and the Lemon Chalet Crème cookies were resized to compensate for the rising cost of baking staples.

No changes were made to other cookies.

[. . .]

Alternatives to the changes were to raise cookie prices or use cheaper ingredients

OK gang...got some really great *411* I'll share on a recent shopping "OP" I had to the local apothecary.

Found some cookies called:
Holiday WINTER MINT cookies
(dark blue stripe box)

...cost a DOLLAR (and change)!!

They are a DEAD RINGER for the GS cookies...
With MORE in the box, at a LOWER price.
AND...they are "Kosher" to boot.
How friggin' fantastic is THAT, eh?

(and I'm a gentile...LOL)

Check out Walgreens - that's where I found MY stash!

Now...go get YOURS!

Oops...spoke too soon.
I checked the Walgreens for those cookies...sold out!

It might have been a seasonal thing (WINTER MINTS...got news for 'ya...it's STILL winter, people)

Maybe WallyWorld has them?
Perhaps SAV-A-LOT?
Aldis?
The game is afoot...
And the hunt is ON!

;)
