Opening Arguments

Hey, I'm working here!

This has to be the quote of the week. It's from Police Chief Rusty York, explaining the 180-day suspension of FWPD Officer Thomas Andrews for "engaging in sexual activity" while on duty. York noted that the encounter with a woman was consensual and that Andrews didn't abuse his police authority to get sex. Furthermore:

Perhaps the only thing that allowed Andrews to keep his job in the first place, it seems, was that the May 6 sexual liaison he had with a woman while on duty, as York said, “didn't involve his work other than he was working when this happened.”

Thanks for clearing that up.

And, OK, he was on duty when it happened, but, for goodness' sake, can't they spare a man for five minutes?
