Of all the old copt stuff on TV, "Columbo: is the best, due partly to the scripts but mostly to Falk's laid-back approach to the character, so often parodied.

That saddens me. Peter Falk is a great talent and always one of my (and my dad's) favorites.
I too am saddened by the news. Columbo was my favorite show. My dad used to say you have to play Columbo to get information out of people.
