mansion

My house is paid for, so maybe it's time for me to trade up. What do you think of this for my next humble abode?

After five years without closing a deal for Stephen Hilbert's former mansion in Carmel, the company he founded is now offering the lavish home to the highest bidder.

Hilbert even acknowledged he might be interested in bidding on the 36-room mansion he dubbed Le Chateau Renaissance.

Carmel-based CNO Financial Group has authorized a sealed-bid auction of the 116th Street property once valued at $30 million, then listed at $20 million and finally bargain-priced late last year at $9.9 million.

It's a real steal at below $10 million, don't you think? On the other hand, it has only 36 rooms and 23,000 square feet, and I have two cats and a lot of books. And what if I want to have company over?

Leo:
Be willing to go "halfsies" with 'ya!
(We also have 2 felines)
The cats could go MONTHS without seeing each other (or us).

It's gotta have a garage AND a workshop, though...that'll make or break the deal for me.

ok, you can have that house....I want the former ruth lilly house...the monthly payments would only be 16,000 plus...a bargain, compared to the hilbert mansion...

Well, OK, a nice, unassuming little house, I'll grant you.
