Meating the challenge

This news from Hoosier Ag Today requires a celebration, I think:

After some very tough years, the beef business in Indiana is coming back. According to Purdue, Indiana has seen a 50% decline in cattle operations in the state over the past 20 years.

[. . .]

Purdue Ag Economist Dr. Chris Hurt told HAT now is a good time to be in the beef business. Hurt stated, “The bottom line is we don't have a lot of cattle, the economy is coming back; put all that together and it is going to be a pretty good time in the cattle business for the next 2 to 3 years.”

I've had a New York strip in the freezer for a couple of weeks that weighs in at (no, not kidding) a pound and a half.  Might have that tonight with a salad and a nice Cabernet. No, that's OK, no thanks necessary. I'm glad to make my small sacrifice to help the Hoosier beef industry come back.
