Reality check

Some in the Occupy Space movement seem to be turning on each other:

It's a den of thieves!

Occupy Wall Street protesters said yesterday that packs of brazen crooks within their ranks have been robbing their fellow demonstrators blind, making off with pricey cameras, phones and laptops -- and even a hefty bundle of donated cash and food.

“Stealing is our biggest problem at the moment,” said Nan Terrie, 18, a kitchen and legal-team volunteer from Fort Lauderdale.

It's called redistribution of wealth. Get over it.

Don't flatter yourself Swingles, my respect level for you is still non existent. I have NEVER tried to be anonymous anywhere I post on any sites. I have always used my real name and I post on a lot of sites. Who I am and where I am is not exactly a secret (I hope), or else I've wasted an enormous amount of money on my website, billboards, and commercials for over 20 years. Your veiled threats to "expose" me are indeed "creepy" but ultimately foolhardy as everybody in N.E. Indiana already knows me.

Nice try though.

Too late, Tim. Your initial response already tells me you'd never talk to me or anyone else that way face to face. Trying to make up for it now isn't going to change what you already showed us: you'll talk smack to anyone you think can't defend themselves. The moment you realize that may not be the case, you got really quiet.

You're just an internet tough guy, Zank, and now we all know that.

It's threads like this that make me realize how badly Leo needs his comments to be numbered!

Christopher Swing
Sun, 10/30/2011 - 12:44am

I don't think Leo can really do anything about it, which kind of sucks, as I imagine there's changes he and other people would like to make. It's likely the software works the way it works, and if nobody who's at the paper now can change it, it's unlikely the company will pay someone to change it in the future.

Phil, in that one post of yours you've managed to do more journalism than Morris or Leininger have ever done on that subject. Good job.

It's a cute diatribe Swinger, but the simple fact is, it's just a small bunch of freakazoids and miscreants who will ultimately have no effect on anything. The only thing they will have accomplished is having made a mess and having stories to tell other old hippies "remember when"....

Christopher Swing
Wed, 11/02/2011 - 7:06pm

I like the frothing at the mouth and spittle-flecks Tim adds when he's predicting the future like that.. :D

He's almost at the shorting-out phase, but still following the script: ignoring facts, becoming more insulting, devolving into pure derangement. XD

Meanwhile, remember! Remember! The 5th of November is Bank Transfer Day! http://www.findacreditunion.com/

Real enough that credit unions, even here in town, are advertising it on the local papers!

Ah, claiming to know the future. Not crazy at all! :D

It's only fair to point out that as your wife is an employee of a bank, Tim, you have a vested interest in being opposed to this idea. People should probably cut you a little slack for your poor behavior.

Tim Zank
Wed, 11/02/2011 - 9:02pm

Oh for the love of god, I have a vested interest in common sense. Lumping in all banks & their millions of employees and millions of shareholders (like probably some people you know and are related to) is positively childish. You claim you're pissed off at what amounts to a handful of Wall Street INVESTMENT bankers so we're all supposed to hate the teller at Wells Fargo now? Jebus you people have a narrow vision.

You are under a the woefully misguided impression that you are far more important than you are. Here's a newsflash, people like you don't change the world, you simply annoy the bejesus out of those that do.

Christopher Swing

Yeah, guess BoA's recent actions and the other things going on must be imaginary... or at least you keep telling yourself that. :)

Actually Tim, people like you do their best to bully and discourage people who are actually changing things.

And this time, you're very much failing. If all of us were so inconsequential, you wouldn't be so annoyed. You'd feel safe enough to ignore us.

Clearly, you don't. :D

The funny thing is watching disciples like you trying desperately to make this whole fiasco seem relevant to someone somewhere.

Heh, turning out just like the grownups told ya it would isn't it? Hippies crapping on the sidewalk, putting their money in banks just like the 1%, robbing and stealing from one another, rampant sexual assaults on women, a few murders here and there, critically injuring one of their own and trying to blame it on the police, a real cross-section of an ideal society, eh?

Not exactly the recipe for winning the hearts and minds of your fellow man, not to mention the American taxpayers (yeah, those of us that work) are getting stuck with bill for the babysitting and cleanup.

Christopher Swing
Sat, 11/12/2011 - 2:54pm

Wow, there's still crime when people congregate somewhere. What a startling, unexpected outcome. Good prediction, sage.

Zank, you're just a creepy little troll that talks trash on the internet. Keep rushing back here with all the links you desperately think prove your "point" (whatever it is that day,) they're still out there. Everyone knows you're not going to do anything more than furiously stab away at your keyboard in Angola.

You wouldn't still be rushing back here if you weren't afraid of something. XD

Now now swingster, calm yourself. You shouldn't be upset with me. You should be aiming your rage at the occupiers. They're the ones making a mockery of your cause for "twinkles up" and global utopia. Don't shoot the messenger.

Christopher Swing
Sat, 11/12/2011 - 5:23pm

Tim Zank, you really shouldn't speak to people on the internet in a way you wouldn't face to face.

Why would I need to calm myself? You're the one that can't seem to keep yourself quiet.

I see you're trying to egg me on from the safety of your little suburban bubble... what is it you hope to accomplish, aside from making yourself look like a lame little troll?
