Steak 'n shaky

This is understandable but still a shame :

Indianapolis-based Steak 'n Shake, a favorite of the late-night crowd and an Indiana institution, faces a shaky financial future.

Some stockholders hope to push the struggling restaurant chain in a new direction, but experts say that might not be enough to save it, 6News' Ray Cortopassi reported.

Steak 'n Shake has always been one of my favorite places, partly because of the steakburgers and side dishes but also because it's a fast-food restaurant with table service and a wait staff. But as the story notes, what makes it unique is part of what endangers it -- having all those extra people makes it more expensive to operate.

The trick in the fast food business is being fast at the drive-thru to keep vollume up. S&S is notorious for being the slowest of the slow at the drive thru. I am not surpised by this. It is at least the second time they have gone under.

One of my fast food joints of choice too. Would be a shame to see if they go under
