Stinky Indy

Turns out those of you who've said Indianapolis smells were right:

Indianapolis' signature smell is made of cinnamon and spice and everything nice -- or at least a lot of nice things, including jasmine, gardenia and patchouli.

Those scents, and a few more, are infused into Saks Fifth Avenue Indianapolis, a new fragrance from the luxury line Bond No. 9. It was created in honor of the Circle City and the 500-Mile Race.

Fewer than 100 bottles -- which are black and covered in black and silver Swarovski crystals that take the shape of a checkered flag -- are available. Cost is $325 each.

When I lived in Wabash, we thought we'd hit the big time when we got a McDonald's and a K mart. Guess getting your own signature smell -- even an "androgynous scent," as this is said to be -- is the big-city equivalent. Wonder what we'd include in an official Fort Wayne scent? Start with a little Powers' oniony odor, add a little Bun Bar sweetness, throw in some GM exhaust . . .

Leo:
Depends what part of Fort Wayne you're talkin' about.

Down HERE, the smell would definitely include stale Magnum malt liquor from half-empty cans on neighborhood lawns, marijuana, chicken and ribs from the nearest fast food chain, pit bull and human urine, and of course, AXE "fragrance" in any scent recently tested (ad nauseum) at the local Walgreens...!

I much prefer your idea, sans the GM exhaust.

I'll pass on the Gary cologne.
