Sex in the Circle City is the best in the country, at least according to a Men's Health survey.
In a list of American cities "where guys have the best sex lives," Indianapolis came out on top as the most sexually satisfied city.
The survey blended several stand-alone factors, such as number of sex toys purchased, STD rate, condom sales and birth rate, and weights those to come up with the list.
Other cities in the region also fared well, with Columbus, Ohio, Fort Wayne and Cincinnati completing the top four.
Here's the complete list, which also includes the "least sexually satisfied cities," with Birmingham, Ala., and (heh-heh) Lexington, Ky., at the very bottom. I dunno about this. It can be easy to believe the worst about ourselves -- dumbest city, fattest city, etc. But this is the third-most sexually satisfied city in the country, and Indianapolis is first? I live in Fort Wayne and visit Indianapolis frequently, and if this survey is true, all I can say is that somebody out there must be, um, picking up my slack.
UPDATE: Oh, rats. It turns out that Men's Health had outdated information on its website (from 2008), which was causing confusing reporting on the results. In the current survey, Indianapolis is only sixth in sexual satisfaction, and Fort Wayne dropped out of the top 10 altogether. Comparing the great differences in just two years in the top 10 and bottom 10 cities shows how bogus such rankings are. Sexual habits do not change that quickly.
