Idle thoughts

I will leave it to those of you in the liberal/progressive camp to point out the wackiest comments from the right -- go for it, fair game. But It's part of my calling to seek out the looniest from the left. And some days I don't even have to look that hard. Today, there was both this:

If you’re religious and pregnant, Planned Parenthood wants to let you know God would be completely supportive of you having an abortion.

Planned Parenthood recently posted a “Pastoral Letter” that explained God would champion women to terminate pregnancies because abortion is never mentioned in Christian or Jewish texts, reported The Christian Post.

And this:

Bergdahl’s fellow soldiers — you know, the ones who didn’t desert their posts, and who risked their lives and sustained casualties searching for the guy who did — have graduated from mere “swift-boaters” to potentially lying psychopaths.  The tweets you are about to read aren’t from some obscure lefty troll. No, these are the Obama administration’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at HUD floating an insulting and conspiratorial apologia for Bergdahl at the expense of his entire unit.

God loves you but not your unborn baby, so go ahead with that abortion -- you have his blessing. Your fellow soldier was not a deserting coward, just a sensible young man fleeing from you psychopaths. Can't make that stuff up.

I know that we now live in an 'enlightened' world but the abortion point by Planned Parenthood is not correct.

The Jewish historian/warrior Flavius Josephus was, as a captive, an eyewitness to the Roman destruction of Judah and the city of Jerusalem in the first century.  He wrote about this and he wrote about Jewish history.  His critics made fun of him so he blasted the Greeks that opposed him.

In "Flavius Josephus against Apion", he wrote about the greatness of the Jewish religion compared to the thinking of the rest of the known world.  He did comment about abortion.

""The law, moreover, enjoins us to bring up all our offspring, and forbids women to cause abortion of what is begotten, or to destroy it afterward; and if any woman appears to have so done, she will be a murderer of her child, by destroying a living creature, and diminishing human kind; if any one, therefore, proceeds to such fornication or murder, he cannot be be clean."

Josephus became Christianized and later a bishop.
