President Privilege

A few words from the president to commemorate Constitution Day yesterday:

President Barack Obama offered some insight into how he views the Bill of Rights. “Our Constitution reflects the values we cherish as a people and the ideals we strive for as a society,” Obama said in the release. “It secures the privileges we enjoy as citizens, but also demands participation, responsibility, and service to our country and to one another.”

God almighty. That's the progressive mind set for you. At the risk of making a futile gesture, no, no, no, the Constitution doers not secure our "privileges." It recognizes our rights -- God-given or natural or whatever you want to call them -- that we possess by merely being human and that the government has no business interferring with.

And, it "demands" participation? Somebody want to tell me what clause that's in?
