Tailing the Komets

Looking for a last-second Christmas gift?

Just dropped off a new batch of these at Visit Fort Wayne on Harrison. You can also get them at Hyde Brothers on Wells St., The Bookmark on North Anthony, The History Center on Barr St., Komet Kuarters and at the Fort Wayne International airport gift shop. You can also order this one and the other six at www.blakesebring.com.

Merry Christmas

Just like the players, I am taking  a couple of days off here (the stories are all ready to be printed), so I'm going to wish everyone Merry Christmas a few days early. Hope you all have a wonderful time with your families. I also think we've already been given a pretty nice gift so far with this hockey season. Very interested to see how the rest of the year goes. Thankful not for the wins, but for a great group of guys to work with every day. So far, it's been one of the most memorable of my 25 years covering the team.

Szydlowski is POW

From an ECHL press release:

Just missed

Thomas Frazee put this shot directly onto the post behind Kalamazoo goaltender Oscar Dansk.

And Garrett Meurs hasn't had this clear a look all season but couldn't lift the puck.

Wings up 1-0 after first

On this goal by Gergo Nagy with Eric Kattalus in front of Komets goaltender Garrett Bartus.

Very offensive game so far with Komets getting 15 shots, and the Wings 12.

Tonight's goalies

Oscar Dansk for Kalamazoo, Garrett Bartus for Fort Wayne. Referee is Jason Faist whom I have never heard of.

Indy's Wilson will miss Saturday's game

From an ECHL press release:

The ECHL on Thursday announced that Indy’s Klarc Wilson has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #250, Reading at Indy, on Dec. 17.

Wilson was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing under Rule #45.5 at 8:09 of the second period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.

Wilson will miss Indy’s games vs. Toledo (Dec. 19) and at Fort Wayne (Dec. 20).

Condon signs in Norway

He's going to play for Sparta Sarpsborg. From what I understand, Lake Erie told him he wasn't in their plans any more so he decided to head to Europe. The Komets had to send him back to Lake Erie so he could be released from his contract.
