David Hukalo did not make the trip to Bloomington and won't be activated until Wednesday -- unless somebody gets hurt the rest of the weekend and needs to go on IR. Konstantin Shafranov did not make the trip today because of the flu.

Wendy's interview this week is...

Win Rood will be Wendy Bartle's guest for this week's edition of "Fans in the Stands", which can be seen during the first intermission of the Komets Game of the Week broadcast. Rood has been working as an off-ice official for 47 years and currently serves as the managing supervisor over all such officials at Komets home games. Among other things, he will discuss his early experiences as a fan of the team as well as a few of the interactions he has had with players off the ice.

The price of jerseys

I also talked with Mitzi Toepfer, Fort Wayne Youth Hockey League guru for decades about the debate on how much the Komets support/donate to the league.

``If there was something the league needed for some help of some kind, they have always helped, be it financial or whatever,'' she said. ``Normally, finances aren't even a question. They have gone out of their way since they have been owners. They have always been very accommodating and supportive of Fort Wayne Youth Hockey.''

Komets beat Flint 6-5

Just a few highlights

* Flint goaltender Sergei Zvyagin was knocked out of the game after taking a shot to the head. Referee Jim Hawthorne did a great job by correctly insisting that Zvyagin get checked out by Flint's trainer.

* Leo Thomas left the game at the second intermission after getting hit knee-to-knee by Flint's Dan Lapointe. Thomas came back to skate a shift at the end of the second period, but sat out the third. He said his knee has a small sprain and he's hopeing to play Wednesday. He said if Saturday had been a playoff game, he'd have continued to play.
