I'm all for commerce, but don't we have enough places to shop in Fort Wayne, at least in that part of town?
RCI Development LLC plans to build a 100,000-square-foot shopping center just west of Glenbrook Commons and Glenbrook Square, according to a local developer's Web site.
A preliminary design of the shopping center shows six stores in the shopping center, including a 45,900-square-foot anchor store. The shopping center called The Pie would occupy the triangular site between Lima Road, Wells Street and Fernhill Avenue. The drawing includes three sites that could be sold for further development.
If we get some new stores that are truly unique, fine. Otherwise, we're just moving the shopping dollars around. Oh, but put a Starbucks on Bluffton Road for me.
