The horror!

Oh, for F@%&'s sake, go ahead and F@%&ing tax Stephen King so maybe he'll stop spouting such F@%&s nonsense and go away:

Heard it all before. At a rally in Florida (to support collective bargaining and to express the socialist view that firing teachers with experience was sort of a bad idea), I pointed out that I was paying taxes of roughly 28 percent on my income. My question was, “How come I’m not paying 50?” The governor of New Jersey did not respond to this radical idea, possibly being too busy at the all-you-can-eat cheese buffet at Applebee’s in Jersey City, but plenty of other people of the Christie persuasion did.

That's from an article the horror writer did for the Daily Beast that contains every tired soak-the-rich cliche you can think of interspersed with some of the crudest language possible. Classy guy.

I ususally try to separate the artists' politics and personal views from their art. No matter what your politics, you can appreciate John Wayne in "The Searchers" and Jane Fonda in "Klute." And if I thought about politics too much, there'd be damn few musicians I could stand to listen to.  But I might make an exception in King's case. If I need a good horror story, there are plenty of other good writers out there.
