Wow -- just like in the movies: "Suspected Indiana serial killer confesses mrders to local newspaper"
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- An Indiana man accused of killing three women has confessed to a newspaper.
Police found the remains of one of the women in the backyard of William Clyde Gibson’s Southern Indiana home back in April.
This past weekend, The Courier-Journal in Kentucky published a letter he sent. He wrote that he'd accept the death penalty because quote, "After all, I am guilty."
It would have been more dramatic if an intrepid reporter had chased down the evidence and then confronted the man, who naturally would have broken down and wept as he confessed, "Damn you, ink-stained wretch, you're just too smart for me. I did it, I did it!" But it's kind of satisfying that he confessed in a letter. Do you suppose he meant it as a letter to the editor? "Dear Editor: Traffic downtown is just too congested. What's up with the governor's stand on new taxes? I really dislike that story about dolphins you ran on Page 1 yesterday. I killed three women and burined one in the backyard. Sincerely, Concerned Citizen."
I used to get letters from this guy in Ohio claiming he was God, which I routinely put away in the Where The Sun Don't Shine file. Perhaps I was hasty.
