Foiled again

Well, if they work against Walmart, guess they're good to go against the government's secret brainwave experiments:

Louisville Metro Police say a man used aluminum foil to try to smuggle stolen DVDs past the anti-theft scanners at Walmart.

It happened Monday, shortly after 8:00 a.m. Police say 49-year-old Arthur L. Lloyd walked into the Walmart on Shelbyville Road, near N. English Station Road, took several DVDs off the shelves and placed them in a black bag.

Police say he had aluminum foil on hand, which he used to disable the anti-theft scanners at the store when he walked out without paying for the merchandise.

Did you know the tinfoil hat originated in a 1927 science fiction story by Julian Huxley called "The Tissue-Culture King" in which the protagonist discovers that "caps of metal foil" can be used to block the effects of telepathy? Well, I was sending my thoughts about it directly to you!

Plus this:

The notion that a tin foil hat can significantly reduce the intensity of incident radio frequency radiation on the wearer's brain has some scientific validity, as the effect of strong radio waves has been documented for quite some time.

So there! I do recommend keeping foil away from the microwave -- just a hint.

Gotta go now. Alpha Centauri is calling.
