Asylum

The man without a country now has a home, at least temporarily:

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden has been granted temporary asylum in Russia and is allowed to enter the country’s territory.

The whistleblower has been granted temporary political asylum in Russia, Snowden’s legal representative Anatoly Kucherena said.

Temporary asylum. That word seems oddly appropriate, huh? Welcome to the asylum, you lucky inmate.  It still seems hilarious -- or maybe it's just sick and twisted -- that someone supposedly so concerned about big government violating our privacy and seeking our secrets would end up in freedom-loving Russia. Snowden's father said, believe it or not, that he feels Russia "has the strength and resolve and conviction" to protect his son. Guess we know where Snowden got his impeccable judgment from. Ah, wish him well. Wonder what he'll do for vacations? Summer in North Korea, winter in Venezuela?
