It's hard for me to understand this:

Fifty years later, no less than 61% of Americans believe others besides Lee Harvey Oswald were involved in Kennedy's murder, reports the Gallup Poll.
This is the lowest percentage in nearly 50 years, Gallup notes, but remains a solid majority.
Note that this is the lowest percentage in 50 years. When a strong majority can just ignore all the evidence and still cling to a theory, I don't know what to call it except mass delusion. Of course we're all guilty of that once in a while. Every four years, for example, a majority of us believe a specific presidential candidate might actually do what he promises to do. But for something to go on this strongly for this long is just remarkable.Mass
