There are always new food monstrosities to try out at state fairs, and I'm game for a lot of them. But one on this list is just so wrong:
"There's just everything out here -- fried green beans, fried pizza, fried Twinkies," said vendor John Cook
, who is anxious to try chocolate covered bacon.
Chocolate is wonderful -- there's no such thing as a chocolate dish that's too choclately. And bacon is, well, bacon; a great breakfast is just bacon and toast, and hold the toast. But chocolate-covered bacon? What a way to ruin two nearly perfect foods. But it's showing up in a lot of places, so maybe there is something magical about the taste combination that my imagination can't conjure up.
