Impressive:

Gov. Mitch Daniels is placing his early endorsement of a company that makes giant, mobile LED screens on his "oops list."

Daniels stood with Mayor Greg Ballard in October -- two weeks before Ballard's re-election -- to tout the company, Litebox, whose founder, Bob Yanagihara, had promised to employ 1,100 Hoosiers.

In the following days and weeks, The Indianapolis Star raised questions about Yanagihara's business dealings in his home state of California.

[. . .]

At the October news conference, Daniels called Yanagihara a "visionary."

But talking with reporters Thursday, Daniels walked over to his desk and pulled out a notepad detailing mistakes he has made during his time in office. Looking over the "oops list," he picked the deal to provide state aid to Litebox for its plans to build in Central Indiana.

Most people won't even admit to making mistakes, let alone keep a list of them. I wish more politicians would do it. Hell, I wish I did it. Wouldn't call it an "oops" list. Mine would be a "Don't be a fool this way again, pick a new way" list. Need a lot of paper, though.
