Classy

Heeey, Willlbur:

Animal-centric pics have performed well for Fox, so the Fox 2000 arm is putting its latest bet on a talking horse named, of course, "Mr. Ed."

Studio has acquired feature film rights to the beloved TV series, which aired on CBS from 1961 to 1966.

Friendly Films principal David Friendly ("Little Miss Sunshine") and Jim Mahoney will produce the live-action family film, which will feature a real horse with a CG-animated mouth. Producers will soon begin their search for a writer.

Love the talking-animal subset of goofy anthropomorphism. Aaaalvin, cut that out! I tink I taw a puddytat! "Is that a CG-animated mouth, or are you just glad to see me?" Naturally, this will be on Fox, but maybe they could simulcast it on Discovery to capture the snooty audience, too.

If they want to bring real class TV back, though, let's see an update of "My Mother the Car." I think the Volt might have some interesting comments to make.

Excuse me, I think Hal here is mad at me. Better get off.
