A growing number of Hoosier jurisdictions have been saying "Nuts!" to the state legislators who stupidly decided that unopposed candidates shouldn't be on election ballots. Now add Fort Wayne to the list:
The little-discussed law was intended to save money and make it easier for voters to read ballots. Boxberger, however, said this could cause large confusion for voters after historically having every candidate appear on the ballot.
Little or now money saved, actually, so the disadvantages of change clearly outweigh the benefits. And "little-discussed" is a bit of an understatment, since the law took everybody by surprise.
The only voters this will benefit in Fort Wayne, though, are those Council District 6. The Democratic inclubent Glynn Hines is the only uno
