Komets

Longest. Second. Period. Ever.

It felt like it took 2 hours to play, and I'm sure I missed most of it yawning. Evansville didn't have a shot on goal for the first 10 minutes, finished with five, yet leads 3-2 after two periods. Komets are working together more than they did last night, but Evansville is much slower and has a much shorter roster than Dayton did Friday night. Komets look better, but really not much.

Comments from Al Sims

You can see we're struggling and squeezing our sticks and pressing to make every play. I think we have to stay positive and stay positive with the guys and get them untracked here. We're just shooting ourselves in the foot, whether it's taking a penalty at the wrong time or a bad time, or shots going in off Leo's stick. We can't seem to get many breaks arouond the net. We had chances tonight, 2-on-1s, Kaleigh I think had a breakaway, we had Brandon Naurato on a break-in, Matty Curadeau on a break-in, P.C.

Couple of notes

* OK, here's the last thing (you hope, ha, ha) I'll say about Anton Kharin. Just for curiousity sake, I looked up what he did against the Komets that year with Muskegon. Regular season 2GP 1 assist 3 shots, 0 pim, 0 plus/minus; Playoffs 5GP 1 goal, 2 PIM, minus-8, 16 shots. I don't care how you feel about plus-minus, minus-8 in 5 playoff games ought to tell you something. Komets scored 21 goals in the series, three on the power play. So for the 18 goals they scored at even-strength in the series, he was on the ice for eight of them.
