Guess what the first tiebreaker is in the CHL?
Most wins -- not including shoot-out wins, and the Komets will definitely own that if the teams end up tied since Fort Wayne has a 2-6 mark in shootouts and the IceMen are 4-3.
It's been a completely different Komets team. They are up 1-0 after the first period on Leo Thomas' deflection from in front on Jamie Lovell's slap shot. Maybe bad news for the Komets, Chris Auger was hit in the corner by Evansville's Mario Boillard and has not returned. Before the shift was over, Kaleigh Schrock fought Boillard.
Komets have been irritable, aggressive, assertive and everything they weren't last night.

Komets Legends had more assistant coaches than the Bishop Luers girls basketball team!
The Detroit Vipers alumni beat the Komets Legends 8-5 on Saturday. Here, David Harlock scores against Doug Teskey. Even two goaltenders couldn't stop this guy!
The word I was going to use for the first period was pitiful.
This team makes no sense. They play that awful in the first period and then come out and play that well in the second.
I don't think there's any doubt you can tell some of the players are playing injured. I'll let you decide who, but there were at least two players I noticed tonight who could barely get up the ice, and no, I'm not talking about those wearing numbers 44 and 21.
Amazing the difference Brett Smith makes in this team.
There are slightly more than 8,000 tickets already out for both nights this weekend. If you're going for walk-up tickets, I'd leave a little extra early.
That is all. No one had to go on IR or be released to replace him.

I hear there's going to be tailgating going on before Saturday's game, too.
Komets broadcaster Bob Chase will speak to the men's group of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3705 South Anthony Blvd. at 7 p.m. Monday.
The agenda is open to any topic, from the Komets to the Indianapolis 500 to whatever you'd like to talk about. Bob has an opinion on most things. Also, please consider bringing a canned food item to donate to the food bank.
