The Wings Stadium Complex announces that starting on Friday, October 7th; the facility will start charging a parking fee per vehicle for facility events.
The charge for parking will be $5 per vehicle and the method of payment on event day for parking will be cash. Patrons will also be able to prepay for parking for events at the Ticket Office. Pre-paid parking will be available through the Ticket Office; sold up until 5 p.m. on the day of the event.
The Komets, along with Indiana's NewsCenter and title sponsor PHP announced Thursday that "INC Soundoff with the Komets", a new weekly sports program, will begin airing on Monday nights at 7:30 on WPTA TV 21 Alive beginning Oct. 10th.

John Rosenberger was tapped to lead the efforts nearly two years ago, shortly after a report commissioned by the Columbus Chamber said the city might have trouble keeping the Blue Jackets because they were losing $12 million a year.

The Komets announced Tuesday that single game tickets for the 2011-12 preseason and regular season will go on sale Friday, September 23, at 10am at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at TicketMaster.com.
The Komets also announced today that defenseman Brandon Warner has been added to the preseason roster and will be in the fold when the Komets training camps begins Oct. 10 at the Coliseum. The Fort Wayne native has skated the last four seasons with the Komets collecting three IHL Turner Cup Championships his first three seasons of pro play. Warner, 28, posted five goals and 17 points in 43 games last season and has totaled 22 goals, 73 points and 174 penalty minutes during his 191 game career in Fort Wayne.

OK, that's just hype because there's been nothing happening to consider calling it a rivalry. The regular-season games haven't been that good or memorable and the teams haven't met in the playoffs. The IceMen have two things going for them in this case: 1. Fic who has the passion; 2. More players than any other CHL team that Fort Wayne fans probably recognize.

* The Komets are starting informal preseason skating today at Canlan from 10-11 a.m. The sessions are open to the public. They'll be going Monday through Thursday until training camp starts.
