There are two interviews with Art Sal. This is what we talked about tonight at the Bethlehem Men's Group meeting. I'm pretty sure most of you know about this project or have heard me talk about it before.

Some updates

P.C. Drouin has signed; waiting on approval from the IHL on the contract.

Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock will make his decision on Wednesday; leaning toward returning.

Mathieu Curadeau is deciding between Kalamazoo and Fort Wayne. ``Sometimes when you win one or two in a row, you take it for granted, but they definitely are not,'' Curadeau said. "It could be a great challenge and a great fit for me."

David Franke said they are getting close to re-signing NIck Boucher and Guy Dupuis.

Parade rest

That was fun, though we could have used a little bit of a breeze. We also ran out of cozies way too soon. I kept looking for something to wrap mine in, but nobody handed me anything. I did think it was cruel irony that the Samaritan helicopter kept circling the parade like a vulture waiting for one of us to drop. Great crowd with tons of kids out there.

I actually though Jon Shepler had the coolest "float'' in the parade. Way to go Jon! You da man with the glads.

It's a parade!

Here are the people as of right now who are walking with the Komets in the parade: Leo Thomas, P.C. Drouin, Colin Chaulk, David Hukalo, Bobby Phillips, Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock, George Drysdale, Reggie Primeau, some Jeep girls. Could I suggest someone bring some extra water for the bird?

Hukalo retires

Veteran forward David Hukalo has announced his retirement. He played six years and 335 games with the Komets. Because he's not a great scorer, he was usually underappreciated by everyone but his teammates, who say he's the smartest player they've ever played with. Three times he was named the league's top defensive forward. If there's one opponent you had to shut down to win a game or a series, there's no doubt who was getting the assignment.

Leo Thomas on signing again

``I wanted to go to Europe for a couple of years now, but I couldn't find a good enough feel to leave here right now. This year may be good for me. It gives me a little chance to maybe get the extra ice time now that Chaulker's gone. It's something I know I'm going to have to work for, but there's a better chance now.
I didn't want to see Chaulker leave, but I'm looking forward to stepping up again. Every year I want to get better and take the stuff I learned from Chaulk. It's going to be a good test to see how I can do this season.

Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock on Matt Ward

"Wardo and I played together for three years at Neumann. In my four years I played there, he's probably the most-complete player I played with. He's a very good player. A great skater. I think he has a better stride than me. I'm not sure if he's faster than me up and down the ice, but it's fun to watch him skate. Good hands, good awareness. My prediction is he'll be on the power play once they see him play. He's a great addition. I tried to talk to him last year about coming, but I know he had a chance to play int eh ECHL with Reading for a few games.
