The puck on the game-winning goal rolled all the way in from the blueline on its edge. Nick thought he had it covered, but it kept rolling behind him where Jamie Schaafsma picked it up and scored from the side before Nick could re-located the puck.
That's about the only goal I could say Nick should have had. The rest were directly the result of turnovers, with Flint shooting from 10 feet and in. Not much he could do about that. Guy had a rough night. He had a chance to clear the puck on the power play at the end of regulation and could not get it out, and Smolinski just made a big-time play.

Sweet goal by Chewy after a Flint turnover. The ice seems to be better in the second period. Komets are doing a much better job defensivley holding Generals away from the back of the net. Mac just had a really good shift, and is playing very well. I've noticed Hodgy a lot tonight as well. He's doing a lot of agitating. Komets look much more comfortable in the se

Syro already has a hat trick. Generals scored the go-ahead goal short-handed after PC gave it up at the blue line. I don't think Nick had a chance on any of the four goals. They were all the direct result of turnovers.
I'm betting on lots of scrums in the first 10 minutes as the Generals come out flying. Flint definitely attacks the front of the Fort Wayne net and tries to throw Nick Boucher off his game. We'll see if everybody loves T.J. Luxmore after this one. It's easier to ref a Game 7 when everybody is on their best behavior.
I'll admit it. I'm the potential Flint owner. Yep, book sales are GOOOOODDDD!
My only concern with all of this is why are we sure it's better in another league? That is not meant as a criticism but a legitimate question. The number of teams should not be the only factor, either, because the UHL proved that just means you can lose them.
My only contention with this is I don't think the Komets are running roughshod over the league. That's too simplistic, unless you haven't watched the actual games. When you're down 3-1 in a series and 2-0 in a game and need to stop a breakaway from it being 3-0, that's not running roughshod. Especially when you win Game 6 despite 8-2 power plays against.
And it's also winning hockey as the Komets are up 2-0.
Komets coach Al Sims said: ``This is the finals. It's ugly hockey. That's the way they got here, and that's the way you have to play against them. If you want to beat Flint, you've gotta buy into playing the same way they are playing. Everything going deep. I believe we have more talent to capitalize on our chances than they do. Hopefully two or three goals will be enough every night, plus being the best defensive team in the league to get it done.''
