What's the difference?

I'm at the Notre Dame-Michigan State game at the coliseum, and you guys think IHL refs make too many calls? College refs call EVERYTHING. Power play after power play.

So what's the difference between IHL and college hockey? In college everyone hustles, even the linesmen. The players don't handle the puck as well so there's more opportunity for hitting because they don't move it as well. They aren't as skilled with their feet catching passes, either. It's a different kind of game.

Komets beat Bloomington

One night after losing their first home game of the season, the Fort Wayne Komets gave the Bloomington PrairieThunder their first home loss on Saturday night. Leo Thomas, Keith Rodger and Justin Chwedoruk scored and Tim Haun made 35 saves in a 3-1 Fort Wayne win.

``It's huge for us,'' Komets coach Al Sims said. ``This team was undefeated at home and they are a really quick and offensive team. To hold them to one goal ine tteir building is really a good job.''

That was bush

I hate it when a handful of fans make all the crowd look bush league like happened tonight. That was ridiculous. Throwing crap didn't accomplish anything other than embarassing everyone else. No excuse.

Show some class and set a great example for all the kids. Remember who you are and who you represent.

We got to see history

Well, some of us did, on Sunday in Muskegon when Brandon Warner set up Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock's third-period goal. That's the first time Fort Wayne natives have scored or assisted on the same goal for the Komets.

Most of the Fort Wayne natives have been goaltenders: Chris Wright, Rick Wynn, Joe Franke and Brian Gratz, and Ron Ullyot never played with another player from the Summit City. John Baldasarri and Colin  Chin played 20 games together at the start of the 1986-87 season but never hit together on the score

According to Scott Sproat, that had been sponsored by Centennial Wireless for eight years and they are up in the air because of negotiations with AT&T at this time and did not sign up again. It may be re-introduced in the future.
