So, no more "Page 3 Girls," the topless models who have graced Britain's The Sun newspaper for 45 years. Whether this was aimed at appeasing feminist ire was a matter of speculation, but the feminists certainly are rejoicing. However, I found this possible explanation a little more intriguing:
A change had seemed likely after Murdoch described page 3 as “old-fashioned” in September. The media magnate apparently signed off on the change, the Times reported.
Bared breasts "old-fashioned"? Really? Well, perhaps so. In a time when anybody with a computer, tablet or smartphone can watch raw, unedited acts of sex in hi-def, a mere static photo of a woman only half-naked does seem rather quaint, doesn't it?
