Gaga me with a spoon

The Chicago Sun-Times, believe it or not, has a blog devoted exclusively to Chicago's favorite talk show host -- "All Oprah. All the the time," says the subhead. The buzz on there Friday was about Lady Gaga, who canceled a Thursday night performance at Purdue University claiming illness ("An hour before the show I was feeling dizzy and had trouble breathing," she tweeted later):

This morning, though, she looked perfectly hydrated and spunky -- with spiky toothpick hair --as she performed a medley of her hits on Oprah's weekly like Friday show. She was even healthy enough to swing a gold, spiked ball on a chain into the windshield of a taxi on the stage.

What a shame. I mean it's fine that we got to see her on Oprah, but, take it from me, that's no substitute for seeing someone with spiky toothpick hair swinging a gold, spiked ball into a taxi windshield in person. As one of the commenters notes, "Lady Gaga is most talented artists in Pop music today she's leagues ahead of Britney Spears." Enough said!

One of my granddaughter's and her friends made the trip to West Lafayette and were very disappointed. As her grandfather, I'm not exactly sure how I feel about her being disappointed.

I've never seen "Lady Gaga" perform live, but from the clips I've seen of her performances, she appears to give a performance which ranks right up there with a few bachelor parties I've attended.

Of course her music's not nearly as good, but her gyrations are "on par".
