Tailing the Komets

Komets' training camp scrimmage gallery

Couple of notes

Matthew Pistilli is in town, but won't play this weekend because of a sore shoulder. He'll be ready to go by the regular season... The Komets are expecting to have Shawn Szydlowski, James Martin and C.J. Severyn in camp by Friday, and to find out definitively about another player, which is likely forward Nathan Condon whom Lake Erie coach Dean Chynoweth talked about last weekend... Kaleigh Schrock won the shootout contest at the end of Tuesday night's scrimmage... Play was sloppy during the scrimmage because of turnovers.

Monday's early practice

* I asked some folks around the Memorial Coliseum why there was so much checking of tickets during Saturday's exhibition game, and they said it was because they didn't want people buying the cheaper tickets and then moving down to higher-priced seats. It's a way to protect season ticket holders who paid the higher rate for the seats on the lower arena.

* Cody Sol and Joey Leach have arrived from Lake Erie and will be taking part in tomorrow's scrimmage at Canlan. It doesn't look like anyone else will be coming from Lake Erie right away because the Monsters have had some injuries.

AHL exhibition game

It's 3-1 Lake Erie after one. I would guess less than 1,000 people here. Not a lot of continuity in the game, but you can obviously tell the talent of the individuals on the ice.

What did you guys think?

Lake Erie cuts

Komets just got back Ian Barteaux, Paul Crowder, Angelo Esposito, Eric Faille, Thomas Frazee, Matt Krug and Pat Nagle. Also rookie goaltender Francois Tremblay who was a fifth rond pick by St. Louis in 2012.
