Morons on parade

I try to keep my music and my politics separate. I have to. As someone on the right side of the political spectrum, I'd hardly get to hear any music at all otherwise. But I swear, these frickin' morons deserve to be boycotted:

Some of the music industry's biggest acts are joining Stevie Wonder in boycotting Florida over the state's controversial "stand your ground" law.

Artists joining Wonder include Rod Stewart, Madonna, Usher and Justin Timberlake, a source close to the legendary musician told American Urban Radio Network's April Ryan.

Rappers Jay Z, Kanye West, Trey Songz, Young Jeezy and Wale have also signed on to the boycott threat, as have pop acts like R. Kelly, Rihanna and Alicia Keys.

Wonder announced his intended boycott the day after a Florida jury acquitted George Zimmerman of second-degree murder charges stemming from the death of Trayvon Martin.

As reported countless times by multiple sources, Florida's Stand Your Ground law had nothing whatsoever to do with the George Zimmerman trial. He made a plain old self-defense plea that would have been the same in all 50 states. So I don't know if this is just typical posturing by the artists or rampant stupidity, which is pretty typical, too, come to think of it.

On the bright side, Indiana also has a Stand Your Ground law, so maybe the morons will stay away from here, too.

Et tu, Rod Stewart? Thought better of you.
