INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana residents may not seem like the most lustful Americans in the daytime, but once night falls, the state leads the nation when it comes to dreaming about sex, a new study shows.
About 14% of the state's residents dream about sex with either an ex or a person of interest, according to the American DreamsCloud Index.
Nationally about 8% of Americans who posted dreams to the DreamsCloud platform reported dreaming about sex. DreamsCloud, an online interactive database of more than 1.7 million dreams, studied the dreams of more than 111,325 adults over a six-month period for the results.
I became more fascinated with dreams after all the strange ones I had while I was on the anti-smoking drug Chantix for a couple of months. I even had a few dreams within dreams in which I dreamed I woke up, and it took me a bit to realize (in the dream) that I was in fact just in a different dream. Very weird.
One annoying thing about dreams is our inability to order them up. Wouldn't it be great if you could start thinking about someone you find very attractive just before you fall asleep and be guaranteed to dream about them? I've had some scary dreams, but the scariest of all were the times I had erotic dreams about people who in real life I did not find the least bit attractive.
