Ready for a little muppet action?

Is the world really ready for a revival of "The Muppets" that is "more adult"?

The presentation from Big Bang Theory co-creator Bill Prady and Anger Management writer-producer Bob Kushell is described as having a 30 Rock feel. The series will be shot mock-documentary style, like Arrested Development and The Office.

[. . .]

The Muppets return to prime time with a contemporary, documentary-style show that—for the first time ever—will explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, break-ups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires; a more adult Muppet show, for kids of all ages.”

I mean, do we really want to see the R-rated version of Kermit and Miss Piggy's romance? Can we take seeing Big Bird look into the camera and start unloading about his inferiority complex? Would we be moved by learning of Fozzie Bear's troubled childhood?

Or maybe Bert and Ernie can move to Indiana and get married, and Oscar the Grouch unsuccessfully tries to buy them a wedding cake, and they all have to go bail out Elmo, who got busted for going over the two-drink limit at a State Fair concert.

Say, on second thought, maybe they've got something there.
