The hour is getting late

Sigh. Ouch. Gulp. Or LOL, OMG and WTF, if you you prefer. Bob Dylan turns 70 this week.

AARP magazine, the publication of the American Assn. of Retired Persons, also has a Dylan cover piece in which the editors coaxed Bruce Springsteen, Bono, Judy Collins, Mavis Staples and Martin Scorsese into writing a few words in recognition of their peer/hero and/or friend.

Of course, this is modern America, so he's been AARP-eligible for 20 years now. SAAAAAALUTE! as our friends on "Hee-Haw" use to say.

From (I think) his best song:

May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
And may your song always be sung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

He may feel more like singing "Knocking on Heaven's Door" these days, however.
