Naurato joins Dayton

The Dayton Gems announced Saturday that left wing Brandon Naurato will be joining the Gems on the road Saturday night as Dayton takes on Fort Wayne at 7:35 p.m.

Naurato was placed on waivers by Fort Wayne on Thursday. Dayton and Naurato came to an agreement early Saturday morning.

Roster moves

The Komets have placed Brandon Naurato on waivers and have activated Danko Mironovic and Derek Patrosso off injured reserve. They have put Craig Cescon on 10-day injured reserve.

* Guy Dupuis: ``I'm not going to lie and say this doesn't hurt. All the players want to do is win more and that hurts more than anything else. I commend management for trying something. It's time to do something. Hopefully all the players will look in the mirror and try to make changes to our game. Hopefully me and PC can get our offensive game back up to par and help out that way more.''

Some non-roster changes

Fort Wayne Komets'  general manager David Franke and head coach Al Sims announced Tuesday changes in the leadership positions within the team's internal structure.

Veteran defenseman Guy Dupuis will relinquish his captain designation and P.C. Drouin will no longer be an alternate captain.  Both changes will take effect immediately.  "We are trying to change the culture in the Komet locker rooms and we want Guy and P.C. to concentrate on their games and not have to worry about things off of the ice," stated Franke.

Kaminski fired in Mississippi

The Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League (CHL) today announced that Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Kaminski has been released from his position and has been replaced by Paul Gardner.

"We needed to move in a different direction," said RiverKings Director of Business Operations Ab Mattice, "and we think our fans deserve better than what has been produced the past two years."
