2-1 PH after 2

Larry Sterling got hit behind the net when the Komets' Colin Chaulk and Port Huron's Paul Cianfrini collided. Sterling's leg got clipped and he hit his head on the ice. Rookie Raffaele D'Orso has gone in net for the IceHawks. Referee Bob Langdon ruled it incidental contact. Both Chaulk and Cianfrini's sticks appeared to clip Sterling's leg. He went to the bench for a few seconds and then went to the locker room.

I don't see how the Komets can win playing this style. They are trying to out-skate and out-gun the IceHawks, and I don't think that's going to work. They need to try to win this game 2-1 not 6-5. Wonder if they will figure it out before it's too late.

Made it to Port Huron

Beautiful day to drive.

I found it interesting at practice yesterday that the rest of the Komets seemed to be treating the suspension like it was no big deal. 1) Al Sims was right, they always seem to play better with a little adversity; 2) Guy Dupuis was right, if they execute the gameplan they win.

We'll see how the boys do.

I'll give Hodgy credit for this: He has stood up to it. No excuses, no qualifications, protests, nothing. He's actually showing a lot of maturity for being 21 years old. I respect that.

Suspension reaction

I saw Hodgman slash Bedard and thought at the time it might be good for two games. Asked about it today, Hodgman said it was just, ``Frustration,'' and there was nothing previous that led to the slash.

David Hukalo moves up with Colin Chaulk and Matt Syroczynski and Mitch Woods goes with Justin Chwedoruk and Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock. Keith Rodger will also play as Brad MacMillan had his nose fixed this morning and will likely miss the next two games.
