Ks fall in Stanford System ratings

The Stanford System connects and compares the teams based on the results of this season's games.  For each game, the system considers who won, the margin of victory, and the location of the game.  The “Rating” is a measure of a team's past performance and future potential relative to all of the other teams.  Thus, a team with a rating of 85 would be expected to beat a team with a rating of 80 by 5 points.  The “Schedule” column indicates

Injury update

Just talked to David Franke who said Kaleigh Schrock got hit in the knee Saturday night off a shot from the point by one of his own defenseman. It's bruised, but he's in the lineup tonight.

Brett Smith is likely out at least two more weeks with a concussion, but he's going to see the neurologist tomorrow. Dustin Molle and Chris Auger are both out at least two more weeks because the Komets want to be extra careful with Molle's groin and Auger's concussion this time.

The team is going to reassess after tonight's game, but they will be able to get a new body

Smith out

He suffered a concussion on Friday night's hit. He has not been placed on injured reserve yet. The CHL suspended Ryan Palmer for one game for an illegal hit to the head and he's sitting out tonight.

All-star game recap

The all-stars won 6-4. Nick Boucher made 36 of 39 saves, and Brett Smith scored a goal on three shots. Quad City's Brandon Marino scored a goal and four points, and Matt Robinson of Wichita scored two goals and an assist. No penalties in the game.

Nick Boucher is out of the game after stopping 36 of 39 shots against him in 29:34. Brett Smith right now with about 16 minutes remaining has scored the game-winning goal. All-Stars lead Arizona 4-3.
