He's not playing tonight, Bryan Hogan is and early on the Komets are tattooing him. He's held up so far.
Why isn't Larry starting? Probably because Fort Wayne-native and Dayton coach Brian Gratz is well aware of Larry's history in Fort Wayne.
Sterling is 3-6 all-time in the regular season at Fort Wayne with an .853 save percentage. He's 3-7-2 on his own home ice with a .908 save percentage. Combined he's 6-13-2 in the regular season with a .883 save percentage.
We still need about 1,500, so I'm guessing it will happen after the game.
Who was/is your favorite Komets player and why? Any year, any e
we're going to pass our 2 millionth blog hit over the past three years. When I figure out whom that person is, I'll give away a copy of ``He Shoots, He Scores, the Best of Bob Chase'' CD. I'll even get Bob to sign it for you. Now, the only way I can tell whom that person will be is judging by the approximiate time and then matching it up with a comment, so to be eligible as the possible 2 millionth blogger, you'll need to post a comment. We're approximately 3,500 away as of 2:40 a.m.
You can read it here, including comments from Al Sims and an update on Leo Thomas.
Be happy to try answering any questions you may have.
The Komets activated Tristin Llewellyn today and that puts them at 19 skaters with Henley and Bennefield on IR.
What are you expecting, hoping for?
It would be nice to see back-to-back strong efforts. It's very early, but I'm beginning to wonder if this is a team that needs to play in a steady rhthym of games to be consistent.
If anyone needs a gift idea or five, please consider some of my books. If you order them now, they will be here in time for me to personalize the signing for you as well. You can get Legends of the Komets and The Best of Bob Chase at the souvenir stands and at Komet Kuarters.
I need to find some new soldiers to talk to about this year's Komets Kare Package. If you know someone who has just come home or an email address for someone who is going to be stationed overseas for a while yet, please send the info to me at bsebring@news-sentinel.com. The dates this year are Dec. 10-11-17. Hard to believe this will be our sixth year, and we've already donated more than 100 barrells of materials. Great job, everyone and thank you very much!
Or lack of them, actually. Stephon Thorne is fine after Saturday's fight, and Brent Henley's knee is a slight sprain, not though to be serious at all. The Komets had the day off except for a trip to the gym. They'll be back at it on the ice tomorrow.
For one thing, their forechecking is smothering the Rush. How many times have you seen the Rush defensemen turn or stop in their own zone while carrying the puck up. They can't get through the neutral zone, and as soon as they get there, they just dump the puck in. The Rush are not a very good dump and chase team.
The Komets also came out playing tough right away, and Stephon Thorne and David Starenky made a big impact early. They talked and shoved after every whistle, and it seemed the Rush backed up a little.
This is from Jim Holland, one of the CHL's best beat writers.
Well, if they feel the need to change their IP addresses... You've got to wonder.
Please be aware, though, things are going to be much stricter around here, more like they've been the last week or two. If we have to, I have been authorized to go as far as approving every post before it can be seen. I certainly don't want to do that, because some day I'd like to, you know, have a life or actually sleep more than five hours at a time, go on a date without wondering who's starting a war on the blog or even go more than four hours without checking out every post.
