Another note

Winger Justin Chwedoruk, who is playing this season in Denmark, said he'd be very interested in returning to the Komets if his team does not make the playoffs.

``I loved my time in Fort Wayne and if we don't make the playoffs, which is unfortunately a big possibility, I would be very happy to come back to Fort Wayne if the opportunity arises,'' Chwedoruk said.

Whole lot of notes

Yes, Konstantin Shafranov was skating today for the first time this season at the optional skate.

``We'll see how it goes for the next week or two and see how he feels about it,'' Komets general manager David Franke said. ``We'll see what our roster situation is at that time, too.''

My guess, it's going to take a lot longer than two weeks for Shaffy to get back into game shape even though he takes care of himself really well. He's still got the best hands on the team.

Chaulk eager to be ``piece of puzzle''

Did they lose a bet?

These are the jerseys Arizona wore on New Year's Eve. Really? Nobody had a second thought that maybe this wasn't the greatest idea?

Notes from Saturday night

* Komets rallied from a 3-0 first-period deficit to win 4-3 in a shootout and break a six-game road losing streak.

* Komets coach Al Sims said Artem Podshendyalov's injury is ``very minor.'' Frankie DeAngelis also got dinged when he was skated over as he tried to block a shot in the third period. The most-serious injury might be a shoulder for Brandon Warner.

* Nick Boucher did not get hurt or injured, and he was the back-up goaltender after he got pulled in the first period.

* Guy Dupuis had his 400th career assist as a Komet, and Mathieu Curadeau scored his 101st career pro goal.

Thank you

Fort Wayne fans donated more than 20 barrels of items for the fifth year of Komet Kare Package which ended Wednesday night. The amount of donations increased for the third year in a row.

And can't believe Icy screwed up The Lion King like that. Disgraceful!

What a goal!

Komets lead 2-0 after one

Goals by Neil Musselwhite and Frankie DeAngelis. Artem Podshendylov can move! Looks like the third period from the other night has carried over so far.

Oh, and another thing

Larry Sterling is not starting tonight for Mississippi

Chaulk's arrival delayed

I was a little afraid this might happen.

He won't be here until Monday because of illness in the family. Start the conspiracy theories, but this is legit. Their daughters have been sick for a week and the family even delayed Christmas.

That means his first game will be Jan. 7 against Evansville.
