On paper

Rank the seven IHL teams from what they have signed so far. Who do you think is the top team and why?

1. Fort Wayne: Best continuity, defense and goaltending signed so far. Getting Syroczynski, Woods and Haun I think are the key signings so far.

2. Muskegon: Almost ditto. Like the Komets, wonder if age will catch up to them. League's best offense.

3. Port Huron: Always have a lot of respect for Stan Drulia and how he puts teams together. Kevin Hansen will be great for them in the smaller rink.

Let's try this again

What would you like to see the new commissioner accomplish? What would you put on his priority list?

I'd like to see him really work on big-picture things. Just think what it could mean to the entire league if he could somehow come up with a major, major sponsor for the entire league. That would take pressure off every team and give them a little breathing room in this economy. I don't have any specific ideas, but, hey, that's what he's for.

Hextall interview

Here's an interview with new IHL Commissioner Dennis Hextall. I tried to think of things the bloggers would like to ask so I have a tremendous headache right now.

To me, it was very refreshing to talk to someone who admits he doesn't know things but wants to learn. I was impressed that he didn't try to
