The Komets beat Muskegon 10-3, scoring 10 goals for the first time since March 25, 2000 against Adirondack and on the road for the first time since April 13, 1995 vs. Peoria.
Mark Veersteeg-Lytwyn had a goal and five assists, Rick Varone had two goals and three assists and Leo Thomas had two goals and an assist.
Pretty much the same lineup tonight as last weekend, except Ryan Potts is playing tonight. He was out of town last weekend on a family outing.
Brandon Warner has been played on a 45-day non-roster spot, and Olivier Legault on the 30-day injured reserve. Dominic Osman and Danko Mironovic are not expected to play tonight, but both made the road trip. Potts is taking Osman's spot on the roster, so if Osman can play Saturday or Sunday, Potts is ineligible. The Komets had to get permission from the league to sign Potts to an emergency contract, just as they did last weekend with Adam Lewis.
"Legends of the Komets" is now available at Komet Kuarters and will be available at Komets games starting Jan. 30 for the game against Port Huron. Several of the legends profiled in the book will be available for autographs that night.
Not really much of interest.
