Komets parade/proclamation is a GO

There will be a ceremony at the City-County Building at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, likely on the front steps. There will be proclmations read by the mayor and the city council and likely some remarks from Al Sims and Guy Dupuis, and a brief amount of time for autographs and pictures. Then everyone will leave at approximately 6 p.m. by fire trucks, trolleys, or something to head to the coliseum for the fan party. They will pull directly into Memorial Coliseum Expo 1 at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open for the fan party at 6 p.m.

Make sure you check this out

This is Ellie Bogue's slideshow of Game 5 when lots of help from Chad Ryan. Also, be sure to see Chad's video lower on this page.

This is a column by Reggie Hayes.

I'm going to be sleeping

So I'm not going to be able to post direct links to all of our stuff for a while.

I'd ask you to please consider picking up a copy or 10 of the paper today because I promise you it will be worth it. We worked our tails off last night, had an awful lot of fun and I'm very proud of what we were able to produce. Make sure you check out Reggie Hayes' column which is about, well, you. Nobody does it better.

Notes on Game 5, part 1

If you haven't heard, Komets won 4-1... How about those posters?... Guy Dupuis suffered a broken right hand when he was slashed on his last shift... Hope everybody remembers to cancel their hotel reservations in Muskegon... The Lumberjacks have lost seven games in a row and nine of the last 10 Jim Hawthorne has been the referee... There probably won't be a full-fledged parade, but there will likely be something before Tuesday's fan party... Give Danko Mironovic all the credit in the world for taking on Robin Bouchard in front... Was there any doubt on the MVP?...

Komets lead 2-1 after two periods

The Komets have taken a 2-1 lead on a goal by Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn off a Colin Chaulk pass at 13:57 of the second period. Rick Varone for the Komets and Dan Boeser for the Lumberjacks scored in the first period.

Lots and lots and lots of penalties called by Burgee's favorite referee. 10,480 fans in attendance, and what I can't get over are the empty seats from what I'm guessing must be corporate season-ticket holders. Plain and simple, those bosses should be fired! Hung in effigy! Forced to wear Icy's Nutcracker tights!

I need a BIG favor

Can anyone out there do me the impossibly large favor of taping Bob's broadcast tonight? I cannot pay you for it, but I would be eternally gratefull and would be willing to trade some autographed copies of the books for a copy of the championship game.

Drouin goes on IR

The Komets have placed P.C. Drouin on injured reserve and will have Olivier Legault skating in warmups.

Jim Hawthorne is the referee tonight.

I'm wondering how loud the "Let's Go Komets" chant will be during warmups?

A Killer story

Komets are coming out confident

You can read the story here. It just amazes me the matter-of-fact confidence this team has. It's not cocky by any stretch, but of a feeling they know they'll do what it takes to get the job done. They'll be going to the net HARD early on tonight.

Have  you guys seen this picture? It's of Shaf after he scored the game-tying goal in the final minute. I just love this picture that Chad took.
