Tailing the Komets

Not a great night

The Komets have scored three goals in their last four home losses and are 3-5-1 at Memorial Coliseum over their last nine games. They have scored 26 goals during those games, but 16 have come on the power play. If they don't score on the power play, they are not scoring.

Strange Saturday night

Kind of an odd night at Memorial Coliseum.

* At least referee Brett Klosowski was consistent. I'll let you determine which way.

* That may be the only game in history when Dominic Osman, Konstantin Shafranov and Brandon Warner all get a penalty.

* Leo Thomas continues to impress me, not with his offense so much, though that is outstanding, but he's 10 times the defensive player I ever gave him credit for. He's really working hard.

* Doyle may be able to fight, but he sure can't play or skate. The Komets' best strategy was to ignore his taunts and just skate around him.

Game postponed with an update

Friday's game at Muskegon was postponed when the Komets turned around near Angola and headed home.

"We could feel the bus moving a little bit, and that's not a good feeling on something that big," trainer Shawn Dundon said.

Komets coach Al Sims said the Komets were going 10-20 mph and the traffic was down to one late and was very dangerous. The Komets left about 90 minutes earlier than they normally would to get to Muskegon.

"The further North we got, the roads were bad, there was no salt on them and some of them had not been plowed," veteran broadcaster Bob Chase said.

There's also a skull on top of the mask and the Boucher family code of arms on the chin. The mask was painted by
