Talks about the altercation Saturday night and how the Komets responded.
Here's what Ben Meisner said about the situation: ``I don't really hold any grudges, that's for sure. It's just part of hte game. Was that guy saying, I'm going to injure this goalie? No. He's not a dirty player at all. I don't hold anything against him.''
Which is also how many hits Kalamazoo's Chris Lawrence has faced.
A couple of good saves. First, Ben Meisner
Then Jordan Binnington
The Komets asked for an ECHL review and Chris Lawrence has been fined and not suspended for hitting Komets goaltender Ben Meisner. Meisner is able to play today.
Here's another view of the play you can look at. There are two parts to the video so be patient.
Also, Jace Coyle has been called up to Lake Erie of the AHL.
``I didn't have a great view of it. He went and was playing a puck in an awkward situation behind the net. The Kalamazoo player (Chris Lawrence) cross checks him in the back of the shoulder blades, and he went down. I don't know what is wrong with him. He has some sensations and some weird feelings going on, and the doctors here wanted to play it safe. We won't know more until tomorrow.''
This kid waved his flag for probably 95 percent of the warmups. Maybe dad was trying to wear him out, but it didn't work. Wish I had that hair.
Ben Meisner is now wearing No. 37, Max Strang No. 41 and Matt Carter No. 7. Komets seamstress Kathy Lomont has been busy!
Lacasse and Makarov placed on reserve; Max Strang called up from Bloomington to back up Meisner. Matt Carter has also been activated.
In a situation like that, how would you like to see the guys respond when your goalie gets run?
``It's a 2-1 game, a tight-checking game. Guys got in there, but at the end of the day it's not like you can't start a melee. The guy that went in there (Justin Taylor), I have to take a lot at it on film, but he's not a dirty player. It was a tough break. It's unfortunate.''
